  • Identifying Trees and Plants

I have started working on landscaping / cleaning up our back yard but wanted to get some specific information on the plants / trees we have in the yard in order to best determine what to keep, what to get rid of, and how to maintain what we do keep.

Does anyone know of a good resource, web site or whatnot that I could possibly post details and / or pictures of what I have to be identified? I know which trees are oak trees in my yard, but would like to know the specific variation or sub species. I also have a couple of trees and plants that I just have no clue as to what they are. Once identified I know what I have I am more than happy to do the research necessary from there, but at this point I don't even know where to start.

Hell, does anyone on here know a fair amount about this stuff? I would be more than happy to post up pics if someone could at least give me a basic idea of what they are so that I can take the ball and run with it.

Neil Sperry's books do a great job identifying species and habits. Post up some pics and I'll help with what I can
