So, after a tad over 8 years the chain sprocket on my garage door opener sheared completely off.
Instead of buying a new one, I ordered a kit off of Amazon. It was shipped for under $26. Sears Parts Direct at 5001 N. Beach wanted almost $38 plus tax.
So, I ordered it off of Amazon and got it in about 3 days.
There is a great Youtube video that shows the step-by-step procedure for replacing the gears.
The only problem I had was the bushing that came with the kit that goes into the top plate was a tad too small, so I had to re-use the old bushing.
The video calls it a main bearing and it's at 2:37 in the video.
So, if anyone has the nylon gears wear out, or has the sprocket shear off, this is a pretty easy fix.
