  • Insulation?

Wanting to get this done asap. The roofing co. that plans on doing our roof quoted us a price, but I thought it was a little high.
It says remove, but was told it would be more or less be 2 guys cleaning up the debri in the attic then blowing in insulation.

    REMOVE & INSTALL (R-30) INSULATION, = $1,510.00

    Thanks!

go to home depot and figure how much of the blow-in you'll need, based on the area...they'll give you a free 1-day rental of the machine, if you buy enough. (it doesn't take much)

If I remember correctly you have to buy ten bags ofthe articat insulation and the machine rental is free I think it cost me around 350-400.

Get a buddy to feed the machine for you, it's goes waaay faster that way
      Vortex rear stand $75
      8.8 410s. $50

that sounds about right (10 or 20), and i think that they're about ~$7/bag or so...i had my daughter and wife feed the insulation in, and it was a breeze. i'd suggest a mask, though. it's very dusty.

Thanks! As far as the a/c drip pans and vents, just cover them up? Did you guys install the air baffles or rafter vents, cause I'm pretty sure I don't have any. House was built in the 70's. I know I have soffet vents on the outside, but as far as on the inside I don't think I have anything that would prevent the insulation from getting in there. Hope that made sense, I'll find a pic if it doesn't.
