  • Electric shop heat?

Am thinking on one of these. I know electric heat is probably the lease energy efficient but I wont be using it for extended periods. We are all electric in my area and it may get me by until I figure out if I really want to install central AC.

Shop is newer construction, 1000 sqft floor level with a loft. Would a 24K BTU heater do the trick? Garage is fully insulated and finished out inside. Does have two non insulated 10ft garage doors.

Handyman, classic car and antique jukebox collector/restorer, and all around good guy.

Just stick a propane forced air heater in it.

Propane Heater on a 20lb bottle.

Might be a hassle to fill, but gas is cheaper than electricity and last I checked we live in Texas.

I have one of those smaller portable propane units but get tired of turning it off and back on. I want something that can be thermostat controlled.

How much is that electrical one? They have plenty of propanes with thermostats - just a little pricey.

New from dealers they are expensive as well but you can find them for around $75-$150 eac from individuals on CL and eBay. Ideally I probably need two 208-220V AC units. I see some rated at 277vAC. I guess thats a commercial voltage rating?
