  • Window Replacement

Thinking about getting these 27 year old windows replaced and need some guidance. I've never replaced home windows before and while I did read up on how to do some of the DIY methods it seems there are still tons of variables that I may or may not come across. I wouldn't mind tackling this myself but without having done it I'm a bit leery without seeing it done first hand or at least getting more confidence from someone who has the experience. The last thing I want is to have a hole where a window used to be for a week(or more) while I'm figuring out what I did wrong or while I'm waiting for the correct size window to arrive after not getting the dimensions right, etc. I obviously would consider paying someone if anyone knows a reputable installer. Someone that is reasonably priced who still does great work would be ideal. Thanks in advance for any advise/tips/recommendations.

I had the windows replaced in our house while we were remodeling it. I ended up going with Window World. I had 11 replaced with the white vinyl, double hung, double low E glass with the gas inside. They were eligible for the govt. rebate since they're eco friendly and all that crap.

All windows installed were $4400. Then we got $1500 of that back from the govt. rebate when we did our taxes.

In the end we only paid $2900 for all the windows installed. And since THEY installed them they came with a 100% no fault warranty. If I shoot a rock into one of them while mowing the lawn I just call Window World and give them the number on the pane that got broken. They bring out a new one and install it at no charge. They were great to deal with and we've been very happy with the windows. Made quite a difference.
