  • Electrical Wiring Question.

Can you splice in a tee in a junction box? In other words can you have the wire coming from the breaker to the junction box and then split off of it in two ways? In my case one would go to a light and another line would run to a plug outlet. Or are the junction boxes only to be used for one line in and one line out?

I was just planning on running an overhead light with one and another wall mount light with the other.

you would be fine unless your running a microwave or window unit and another high amperage demanding device all at the same time.

Just make sure the box is secured and covered and you will be fine

J-boxes have a certain allowable box fill and your no where near exceeding that.
