We will break it in in December; I just got back to my office in Afghanistan (minutes ago).

I hear you, no one wants to be here. I just got back and I am ready to leave. I just spent the last two hours searching for jobs on the internet.

Not much progress yesterday. A guy came out and cleaned the concrete off and left in a huge hurry for some reason not to return.

Hopefully they get somework in today.

Do you have the view of the other side - for the curved cinder block wall?

I don't unfortunately and my wife is at work all day today. By this afternoon all the cinder will be covered with chopped stone.

We hope to have more done today. The sitting wall is about 75% stoned in minus the cap. Grill area is coming along nicely too.

                    Back of the sitting ledge

Work so far on the fire pit

shitty night pic of the inside of the curved sitting ledge. the openings in the stone with the black wire are for the deck lights.

Should have more done today. My project manager is going to be out all week next week. BMR has another manager handling our project for him right now, not really a bad thing.

I just got a load of pics from today's work. I will have to upload them tonight when I get off work.

You've pretty much inspired me to tackle my own... hopefully this spring. Gonna do a fire pit the easy way you did and just plumb in a small drain like that and build the pit on top instead of making a big hole and getting a firepit "sleeve" and then building up

I thought about doing it myself and even posted up here debating it......NO WAY IN HELL I WOULD TRY IT NOW LOOKING AT ALL THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE. The stone guys were there 6 days last week and they still have a few days left to go before it will be done. I watched the crew dig out and put up the forms then lay the rebar. It took a crew of 6-7 a solid 4 hours start to finish and they were some hard working guys. If I tried that it would have taken me a week.

It really has been worth paying them to do the job. If you take out the fact that they ran into my gate driving out the other day and bent 3 wrought iron slats.

Does anyone remember what Randy Bess's screen name is now?
