  • Sheetrock/Drywall cost

I am building a small house approx. 1100 sqft. What is the average cost of hanging rock and finishing/texturing it on a project this size?

Where are you getting the info from? Are you a contractor? Sounds cheap! I've done lots of internet research and it looks like cost varies widely. I've seen anywhere from .85 sqft to $40 per sheet.

I paid $5.50 for the drywall, $4.50 to hang and I think .45 a house sq ft to tape ,bed and drywall. This was on a 1100sq ft house.Took 160 sheets. Whats the location?

By .45 sqft do you mean actuall square footage or wall and ceiling square footage? It will be located in Quinlan, TX (45 min east of Dallas).

i am a contractor and those are the prices i pay my subs. Your .85 a sq foot isn't what you think it is. there are 32 sq ft in a sheet which puts you at 27.20 a sheet. i know my guys are cheap because i use them all the time on my bigger jobs (118,000 sq ft.) retirement homes. those are the number i plug in for my bids. with yours being smaller, i am sure the price could fluctuate higher and also depending on how close to dfw you are.
like i stated, this is what i pay with NO markup. if you want to use my subs, no big deal i don't need anything out of it, it actually helps me cause winter is coming up and i like to keep my men busy so i don't loose them
