I just replaced condensor motor and cap on rent house and was shocked to see a crack in the brick starting from the foundation to the top of the plate.
This is on the east side of the home. This crack was on one of the garage walls. Home has attached front entry garage. Dirt was pulled away from foundation 1-2 inches. Gap caused by crack is about 5/16" max at top row of brick. Is not stair stepped and has split several bricks in its path. Good mortar bond I guess, It appears the NE corner of the slab has dropped maybe 3"-4" or more causing all this.
I dont think soaking at this point will restore the slab back on plane but I am soaking all now in hopes that this will recompact any subterranean voids and avoid further damage.
I can do a lot of home repair and remodeling myself but this one is going to be out of my league. Does anyone have a recommendation or experience with any companies servicing S Grand Prairie area? BTW, the homes on either side of ours have like damage in the same area.
