I may use these suggestions and take my two large mirrors from our master bath, put them in the weight room and put in a framed smaller mirrors in the bath.

I wouldn't even know where to shop a 4'x8' mirror much less want to transport it to the house.

Depending how big they are, you can usually have your mirrors recut to size and have them reframed all at the same time. I would imagine it would come out much cheaper.

I just can't stand the 'drive-in theater' size mirrors, reminds me of apartments and doesn't do much for decor. Same goes for the lighting. We had the brass bar type with 8 bulbs so we just split that and put more modern two strips of four bulbs above each mirror.

Yes, I agree they reak of cheap contractor grade materials. Kind of like the damn tile in my house. They even used the same tile from all the floors, bathrooms and even the shower stall as the tile for the kitchen backsplash. I was glad to see it get busted out.

We could cut down the large mirror but I would rather rehome them into the weight room and get new mirrors for the masterbath. I am sure we could cut what we have AND buy a couple 4'x8' for the weight room. I guess I need to weigh the costs both ways.

believe it or not, i've had great luck on craigslist. (if you're just looking for a mirror) if you want a nice decorative mirror, you can have a glass/mirror place cut it, have them bevel the edges, then go to hobby lobby and have them put a picture frame border around it...they have some stuff that looks amazing!

I did the same thing, took out the huge one and put two smaller framed mirrors above the sinks.

Definitely a good time to do a little change if it works in your situation.

We did the same thing when we remodeled our master bath. We looked and looked for either a modern 1 piece or 2 seperates. We ended up finding 2 smaller framed mirrors at Garden Ridge for like $25 ea. They worked great and look way more expensive than they were against all the other updates. I'd give Garden Ridge a shot, you might get lucky and find something that will work.
