This. I can't imagine having to get approval because I want to do something. I had a huge deck built out back just because I had extra cash and wanted it. Didn't check with anyone. Flag pole because I want one? Not a problem. Mustang out front on jack stands while it's repaired? Not a word.

Oh wait, that's because if someone around here tried to form a HOA and tell me what to do, I'd probably wind up shooting them with rock salt.

Thanks, we are really looking forward to it. Okay that is a partial lie, I am looking forward to it; my wife is "just fine without it" she says. But I am the man and I say we are getting a patio.

I totaly understand your feelings. I felt the sameway and still do but I relish the fact that there is not a "Mustang out front on jack stands while it's repaired" in our neighborhood.

As long as our comittee is staffed with residents who are reasonable I don't have a problem. My patio was far from unreasonable. It is approved and I am back to having no issues with our HOA.
