    Hoa

    Well I am finally going to get a full mouth full of my HOA instead of just a taste. I am submitting my project plans to add the patio to my house and they are scheduled to meet and "rule" on it this Tuesday. If they shoot me down it will just force me to put the money back in the mattress BUT hopefully they give us a thumbs up.

    I have a few contractors bidding on the work, Acid being one of them. Look for a build thread in here next month.

    540-550sqft of patio, 45 feet of walkway, fire pit (undecided on gas or not), sitting ledge, built in grill and counter top bar.

    Good luck and F the HOA... I'm already envious of your big garage and now soon to be patio.
    You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

      Hopefully we can break it in with some BBQ and beer in September. When I get home it should be 21 days of working on getting the car running, playing in the garage, and patio. Of course there will the other stuff like baby makin.

      I am still planning on visiting the base when I get home next month. I will need a new to get a new ID card. My department has to start collecting them before people leave country.

        I'm all down for that, hopefully the weather has cooled by then. And if you have the time come Dove hunting, there is few places around here that have fairly cheap day hunts, Haslet, Justin, ect.

          We have a bunch of people that are demob'ing out of theater and not returning them. The company is getting beat up over it by the USG. It is understandable but a knee jerk reaction to a simple problem. Don't return your ID, we don't send you your last check is a simpler fix. If you try to report it stolen......tough shit, no paycheck.

          A day hunt would be pretty cool.

              I hope I don't come to regret this statement come Wed. but our HOA has been fine. I put up a fence without their approval, it matched the deed restrictions and nobody has said a word to me. Our trash has been out early and cans left out on accident and never have heard a word about them. We live in a small community and everyone pretty much looks after each other. HOA manages the pool, gate, roads, etc and it seems to be a good cohesive environment.

              Now with that said, I just submitted a 21 page .pdf (mostly rendition photos I made with Punch Landscape) and I hope they approve it. I had to leave off the contractor's name doing the work because I just don't know yet who it will be. This Tuesday's meeting is the latest I can get approval for work being done next month.

                Update

                I submitted the proposal and apparently they cannot read worth a shit.

                They want to know what the counters are going to be made of. It is in the proposal; concrete. Why does it fucking matter if I change my mind to tile or brick or slate, etc?

                They want a materials list. Fuck off! I am using concrete, some stone veneer or solid stone construction. Heck I am thinking of mixing unicorn blood into the concrete to give a nice tint. May even bury a leprechaun underneath the fire pit for good luck.

                I mentioned in the proposal I am going to stub a gas line into the fire pit. So that prompted. "do you already have gas at the house?" What does it fucking matter? I am not going to tell them I am going to run it off of 50lb tanks that I will hook up in the garage.

                Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

                    I know....I don't know why I am even worrying about it.

                    So far it looks like Acid is going to get the work. If I can get it started on the 8-9th we should have it up and running by the 20th easily.

                        Will do.

                        Hopefully tomorrow this time I will have an answer from the HOA. They have not sent me any more emails since my last response. Yesterday.

                        I have never had a problem with them and didn't think they would have been this picky about something like this. Hell there are second houses going up on some peoples properties.

                          Bunch of HOA haters up in this mother.

                          They are only there to protect the values of the properties in that community and give people with no day jobs something to do.
