Installing st augustine is a biatch.

Put down 15yds of st augustine for large patches this morning. In most places, I had to dig out the weeds or crappy grass with a garden claw and then put down the turf. About 2/3 of the grass went in the back yard so I had to carry the grass back there. I am dead.

Sod in general is a bitch to lay down. We had our back lot levelled and bought 29 pallets of sod. Grass co wanted $100/pallet to install. I figured, screw that, we got this. Each pallet holds 90-100sqft. These came stacked in rolls and after about 6 pallets, I was done.

I went out to the road and flagged down a landscaping truck. The mexican guys didnt speak much english but I pointed at all the pallets scattered about the lot and they got the idea. About three hours and $400 later and it was all laid out.It was a win-win as far as I was concerned.

Yes, it is. I used to do some landscaping a few years ago. I remember working with my cousin we did an entire 52' trailer of sod (don't remember how many palets) in two days and it was an ass kicking times ten. The next two days I couldn't pick up a fork to eat... lol

My bad, I was thinking 100sq ft but after thinking about it, thats only a 10 ft square area. Each pallet held MUCH more than that. 450 is probably right, the pallets were stacked almost chest high.
