  • Flagstone patio?

I'm having a flagstone patio installed with in the next 2 weeks and was wondering what the realistic sqft to ton equation is. The guys at the stone place try to say 1ton for every 100 sqft but that is way to much stone. Plus they are sales people I know to take their word with a grain of salt. I know my sister had a crap load of stone left over when she used this equation 4 years ago on her patio. I'm doing a 1inch stone over concrete for what it's worth.

    Flagstone

I bought a 2600lb pallet from Ft Worth grass and stone and did a 12ft dia. area for a fire pit and a small walkway and it was 1 1/2".

when i was looking at doing the same thing, my stone guy (installer) told me that 1-ton = approximately 120sf...i'm pretty sure that we were going to put down a 1 1/4" stone.

the 12' diameter area should be about 113sf...what was the size of the walkway?

I have 225 sq ft patio. I want to do just what you are doing, over concrete. Roughly what is it costing you to do this? and how many sq feet are you doing?

          Thx,
          Randy

I found a guy thats going to do all the labor and supply the concrete for 2k. This includes all prep, laying the concrete, laying the rock, buidling a bench out of rock and a slab for my smoker. All I have to buy is the rock and mortar. It will cost me about about $700 to $800 depending on how much rock. So out the door I'm at $2,800 for about 375sqft.

Did you ever end up doing this patio?

I am going to be in the need of a good hardscape guy in September and wanted to know what you thought about the work you had done.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
