  • Plumbers: Tank-less hot water heaters?

How do you determine the size of tank-less hot water heater you would need? I have been kicking around the idea of having one installed. I like the on demand constant hot water, as we sometimes out shower the hot water supply when all 4 of us take showers, and if we are running the dishwasher, washing machine, and washing dishes or showering then it's all over Whats the average size and what kind of energy benefits might one see from this as well?

Do you have gas? No way I would put an electric one in.

Careful. "On demand" and tankless water heaters are not the same thing. The biggest Rinnai tankless heater will not supply endless hot water to several spigots/heads at a time. There's a lot of inaccurate info out there about the "mythical" tankless hot water heaters.

What other info suggestions do I need to consider when looking at this option?
