  • Best weed/grass killer?

Looking at the selection at HD is overwhelming. I am putting in a pathway with paver stones and gravel and right now most of the area is covered in nutsedge, crabgrass, dallis grass. I HATE this stuff. On other parts of the yard, I have very nice St Augustine, but I have never been able to win the battle over these weeds. I have used crabgrass preventer in the past but it never seemed to make a difference.

I bought a bottle of the cheapest screw on your hose one that lowes had, its in a black bottle(spectracide maybe) and it seems to be working surprisingly well on my yard. Last year I bought the expensive stuff the nursery recommended to take care of this clover crap in my yard and this stuff seems to work just as well and cost less than half as much.

Two different types of weeds, and two different treatments. You're using a broadleaf weed killer. The OP has problems with grassy weeds.

To the OP - Use MSMA (if you can find it, it's been pulled but some nurseries still have a stash) on the Crab and dallis grass. My Dad claims the stuff in this link works as well as anything he has used, since the banning of MSMA. Doesn't work as well as MSMA, but again, very difficult to find. http://www.plant-shed.com/index.php?...=826&parent=39

Use Sedgehammer on the nutsedge. http://www.gowanco.com/ProductInfo~p...Hammer%20.aspx

Find a coop or a farmer and get roundup. Whatever it touches will die
