Attic Insulation Hook-up??

There used to be a thread on the old site where someone allegedly had a hook-up of some kind on blowing attic insulation. A friend and I are looking to add some more insulation in both of our homes (1,500sqft and 1,800sqft) and we're looking to get some quotes.

Anyone do this on their own? Is it a major PIA, or is it something that we could help each other do and knock out in an afternoon??

Let me know if you find it. I get a coupon it seems like every other week for like 20-35% attic insulation. You can have it if you don't find a better deal.

Have you guys ever had an energy audit done on on your homes. Its all free paid for by Oncor. We come in and check out your system and if the work can be done we seal up all you a/c vents, returns and even the plenums to stop air loss. Then if your home is all electric we can do a full weatherization. Which includes weather stripping your doors and windows and installing insulated pads behind all light switches and outlets. Then we check your attic insulation and depending on your income it sometimes it can be done for free also. In my neighborhood, CoServ is the only power provider, so I'm SOL, right? You think CoServ offers something similar?

What part of the metroplex are you other guys that are interested located in? Maybe we can all help each other out? My friend and I are both up here in Flower Mound, fyi.

It was me and it was the 75.00 Oncor deal. Then there was a guy called Daywork that came in and offered up the same deal but he registered on the site. It only happens once a year till they run out of money and usually the places that do the audits do the same program. You know come to think about it Careless chris jumped on the band wagon and started getting referrel fees from my thread which was really just started to help board members. Had I known what I know now I would have outed his ass then.

Ok going to edit this once more. A member here named Daywork seams to be the go to guy now. He can hook you up big time on insulation and other energy saving items on your house. The less insulation your house has the more he saves you.

Just thought about this from reading another post. Md energy service will bring your house up to a much higher R rating or so for 75.00. House has to be built in 80's-90's and have poor insulation. I have done this to my house and at least 15-20 people I know. I will try to find the number tonight. Was a smoking deal. Oncore made a huge profit and its their way of giving back.

I am just trying to help some of you out. I don't know this guy personally I just know that everyone I know has had this done. It knocked my electric bill down 165.00 dollars last month and my a/c / heat does not run near as much. I cant remember the exact criterias but I know for sure 80-90's house with low insulation levels and I think the 80's -90's thing was just saying hey not a new house. I cant imagine they wouldnt do houses before the 80's. Oncore will call you back and may want to visit and verify your insulation level. I cant remeber the exact R rating either I just know they pumped a lot into mine.

MD energy service . Its not a low income thing either someone asked me somewhere else because of the web site. Oh and houses pretty much built 90's and back. They do all sorts of gov /txu sponsered services through out the year. Windows, plugs, sealing your a/c box. just depends on the season.
