I dont like either plan, it seems that they are both long term payment plans that push our problems down the road. and both plans seem to pit different groups of people against each other. I am starting to think that the best way to get rid of this debt is to require every american to make a direct payment to pay off the debt.

This really is the case I have been making lately. At some point the shitbags at the bottom are going to have to get off the free ride. I don't honestly care how many hard luck stories I see in the newspaper about "people who can't make it" any more. I have just had it. I get up every fucking morning and come to a job I really don't care for that much just because it pays the bills. The bottom feeders can do it too and they can pay fucking reasonable taxes just like I do.

I heard about a survey this morning where 60% of people surveyed who have a net ZERO or negative position for federal income taxes actually believe they are paying taxes. It would be funny if it weren't fucking sad.

I already make a payment, I'll be sending my latest batch in next Monday.

Why don't we get the cashier at Wal-mart that "can't live" without all the government services to make some payments? There about ten of them for every one of me so they should be able to handle something like five hundred or a thousand bucks.

I am of the opinion that we can afford to take care of children, the disabled and old people. But when it comes to children, there are ways to support them without sending their worthless parents a check.

I agree with everything but the SS. By golly, if I pay in all these damned years I want to use it!

Edit: It's sort of like why I contribute the minimum to my 401K. Yeah, employee match is a great investment but I'd like to be spending my retirement way before my 60s.

How about they just give me my SS back and we call it square. I do not need the government to save my money for me. The old people I am fine with, disabled people it just depends, and kids I am torn on. I have come into contact with so many "disabled" people receiving checks from the government that are totally fine to work. How about they use some kind of birth control till people reach sayyyy 21 then you can breed all you want. I bet a 1/4 of the girls in my high school are pregnant. These same idiot you see fighting on youtube, sitting on their dead ass, and collecting a check are going to be rasing them.

Then by golly they should have been down at Congress getting them to stop spending the surplus 50 years ago. I have no sympathy for the older generation who paid in and think they are owed something. Their congressmen spent that money. Now my three year old is supposed to pay for them to retire when he gets a job? Give me a fucking break!

You won't ever get your SS back. That money is gone so forget it. The best you can hope for is that you get to withdraw from the program at some point in your life and invest that money for yourself.

Word, SS contributions are gone...kiss them goodbye. At the very least, SS needs to become a defined contribution plan, not defined benefit. That shit is way antiquated.
