Surpising article. I live in North Fort Worth in a middle income neighborhood. We belie our status by livng well under our means, as Dave Ramsey suggests. Sorry for digressing.

My neightborhood is diverse. I have a white couple living in the house on one side, a hispanic family living on the other side. Across the street the three houses are white and two hispanic families. Oh, there is a black family living four houses down.

There's more people up here in PA that hate other races then I've ever met in Texas, and they are way more open about it too. I always thought the North welcomed it more, but I was wrong on that assumption.

PA was still an Obama state. Apparently TX is more racist.

run down trailer parks? They may not be downtown, but they are part of the metropolitan area which the study included.

trailer parks would make sense, I cant think of any off hand in the city but I am sure there are a few there.
as for Garland, I am sure a lot of people in the city like to think of garland as poor white trash, but I am willing to bet are living modestly with jobs and earning way above the poverty line

Haltom City and Grapevine have trailer parks.
We had all the old "section 8" folks from down town Fort Worth dropped in our neighborhood (Watauga / Fort Worth border) crime rates went up but hey we have to look at the bright side we got a new JPS doctors office and a family welfare center out of the deal.

Jesus, man... get in your car and drive. There are dozens of "poor white urban neighborhoods" in DFW alone.
