  • Wisconsin Union Law Mess...

Can someone who may have a bit more understanding on this issue please help me get this straight.

Republican Reps and Governor push a budget bill with collective bargaining restrictions on unions.

Dems don't have the votes and bolt as per rules there must be a minimum for a "quorum" on all activity that has to do with spending.

Reps remove budget parts of bill and push it through anyway.

Dems get butt hurt and find a union shill judge to block enactment of law because there is a possibility new bill was not "posted" for a specific length of time at a particular place.

Hence new law blocked while going through courts... not due to a constitutional problem with the law itself, but details of how\when it was "posted".

So my question is, why can't the Repubs just say yes, it looks like you are right, The posting was only 47 hours instead of 48 hours, making the vote void. Therefore, here is the EXACT same bill... Here it is.... it is posted correctly... after the however many hours\days have passed.... vote on it again...

Thus just getting rid of this crap....

Is there a reason this idea would not work?

I don't see any flaw in your logic there. Then again politics seldom follow logic.
