Looks like they only got taxpayer funded abortions banned in DC.
Anti-abortion lawmakers succeeded in winning a provision to ban the use of federal or local government funds to pay for abortions in the District of Columbia.

It may save us money over the long haul, but that is because we would pick up the slack with some other entitlement program. I would cut or steeply reduce the others also since they fall under this same line of thinking IMO, so there goes that.
Every service they provide (as far as I know) is available at a private doctor. Each one is a privilege if you can afford it, not a right that other people should subsidize.
If you can afford an abortion then by all means get one*. If you need some sort of STD screening then pay for it. The reason we have PP may be because some people just can't afford things, and that I can live with. The problem is it has ballooned into propping up Americans who don't know how to manage their money or would rather spend it on a PlayStation than an STD screening or condoms. Same goes for the other entitlement programs.
The bottom line is it is not the government's job to provide those services, they are readily available elsewhere. If you can't afford it I'm sorry, but everybody can't afford everything. People have to learn to live without the things they can't afford.
*I vehemently disagree with abortion, but for the sake of this argument it's just an example. i don't think it is the federal governments place to regulate it either way.

"Fuck the poor" is a little harsh. I do believe in helping those less fortunate than myself, but it should be ME deciding who/when I should help... not the government. I think everyone would be surprised to see just how much help people would get from others without government intervention.
