I agree with you 100%, but the general public is going to frown on it.

In a way, that maybe a great thing - we need to get everyone off deployments. That shit has gone on long enough.

Either that, or tear those countries up.

However, with the current "rules" it's not going to be pretty for those who get caught.

I know I'm being a hypocrite here, but this along with other ones that made big/bigger news - I just wish they'd not take videos and so forth. Use a little common sense.

    Fuck Rolling Stone.

If war was easy, we'd send the damned pussy-assed jounalists to fight. But war isn't easy, so we send troops who are trained to kill. Sometimes it gets messy. Such is life.

Edit: A military buddy told me a week or so ago that another sensational story was about to break. I guess this is it.

I will probably get flamed here but so be it.

In war, accidents happen ie killing innocent people, I will agree to that, but intentionally killing innocent people shouldn't be tolerated, which by the article isn't. By the examples listed it didn't sound like much of those were on accident, if any.

Yeah, Al Qaeda killed thousands of our innocent people but us killing "theirs "obviously isn't going to have any affect on them if they can do such a thing to ours. Besides, that proves absolutely nothing .

I respect anyone who serves our country and fights for our freedom, but killing innocent people intentionally loses any and all respect and they should be dealt with accordingly.

Absolutely. Until we can get back to making war against us seem so horrible as to be unthinkable to our enemies and potential enemies, we will continue to have our ear thumped like the passive kid in school.

They shouldn't be court martialed. We should just start destroying everything in our path until our enemy gives up

Maybe we could just leave that hell hole and then shit like this wouldn't happen?

I really couldn't care less. Should they be prosecuted? yes Should soldiers do shit like this? In an ideal world, no. Can you say that any of these people are civilians and have that assessment be reliable? No, because the Al Qaeda assholes look just like civilians, just add an AK.

It is war. Shit like this happens when you have a war. My grandfather fought on the Pacific islands in World War II, he had a necklace made of Jap ears before it was all over. Big fucking deal.

    They are getting court martialed...

It heinous and any professional soldier will likely agree. However, they will pay their dues and I would hope the "senior officers" also get court martialed.

Then there is what SB said about, but we still can't just be killing random civilians. It will never look good for public opinion. Public opinion does matter, I'd hate for some bad apples to disgrace everyone who serves.

Does any of that equal to 2,976 innocent lives lost?
