You do know that it doesn't matter if the person we kill is guilty or inncent, we still pay off the family and they still hate us.

I am glad you said insurgents. They (the army kill squad dudes) planned out the murder of civilians. You are right, HUGE difference.

I can understand taking out someone you THINK is a threat, but when reports show that a young farmer they killed wasnt a threat at all, and then you pose and cut his finger off? Who do you think the father is going to turn to to tell when the next American patrol is rolling through.

It doesnt help that the SSGT in charge of this "kill-team" was a social misfit who likely would be in prison if he wasnt enlisted (for other crimes, not the kill team stuff). I know I know, welcome to the military, but when you represent the US, you gotta be a better man than that.

The problem with this is less the kill-team, its how it was handled, and then attempted to be covered up.

For what it is worth Stars and Stripes a US military publication put this story out several months ago. Many many months before MSM got a hold of it.

It says something for the transparency and that the military is only stopping the release of the photos citing national security and the security of our troops; a good enough reason to me.

You should have said only if the REST are found guilty. And I am willing to bet that CID would not be looking into a dead hole. They got one to go down the rest will follow soon.

Can I ask your opinion on where you will stand if/when the rest are found guilty?

Like I said before I get standing behind fellow soldiers but if the standing next to me was committing these acts I would cut bait.

No, I have regard for our troops, not the animals that behead us with dull blades, burn our bodies and drag them through the streets, put videos of them killing us on CNN where our families can watch us die, send children at us with explosives strapped to them because we don't shoot children. Or when they dress as women so they are patted down by women (who aren't at EVERY check point, so you have to call someone in) and then detonating explosives. Tell you what, you go over there, put on your blue cord and walk those streets, getting shot up, blown up and watch your friends bleed in your hands and tell me how much sympathy YOU have for them.

And if they are found guilty, then I'll treat them as criminals who should be punished by the full extent of the UCMJ. Until them, I'm treating them as soldiers who are doing a difficult job surrounded by people who want them dead.

There are so many non-sequiturs and fallacies in your logic that I'm not even sure where to begin. Why are we even over there with ground troops if your brilliant solution of killing everyone that's brown and not American can be handled with bombs?

It is his opinion. He is allowed to have one that differs from yours. Deal with it.

But Iraqi and Afghani children whose guilt or innocence is decided on the spot by an invader aren't allowed to live? Doh, how did I fail to see it before now?!

Thank you. That says a lot.

I 100% agree with the bolded statement. It is a difficult job and multi faceted at that. I agree that it takes a strong person to go through what they do and come out the other end with their sanity intact.

On another note. I would like to know what base these guys operated out of. I am still looking for the Stars and Stripes article.

Then point them out. Are they not using their children as IED's? I know for a fact they are. Are they dressing like women to take out our troops? Again, personal experience. We are over there because politicians do not have the testicular fortitude to allow us to do our job and let us come home. They want something packagable and that they can put on CNN and feel good about. What we should do should never be shown on CNN and should only be whispered about in the areas of operation for generations.

Your thinking would last one IED. Especially when you see a kid trigger one or come to you strapped with explosives. It's the naivety that comes with never being in the situation.

                            • This isn't even newsworthy compared to what the Japanese did to the Chinese in WWII. You guys should read up on warcrimes a bit more.

If you don't think the Chinese are peace loving people, go read about WWII and figure out why China hasn't killed the entire country now that it can.

If you don't want terrible things like this to happen, then stop sending armies to foreign countries for an entire decade.

This is what happens when humanity is reduced to a kill or be killed mentality. It's recorded throughout the entirety of human history for anyone to read.

Where do you think phrases like getting skull fucked and shit for brains and the like come from?

This is nothing. If you want to blame someone, blame your idiot leaders for putting young soldiers in hell to die for nothing.

So does that make them and these soldiers one in the same? Yes the media may spin some aspects, however one has already been to court and was found guilty.
See therein lies the core of the problem. The country is no longer responsible for the actions of it's citizens..... so apply that in reverse to these soldiers. They were just fringe loonies right?

If we treated them like we treated Japan in WWII and Germany, there would be a whole lot less terrorists running around. No one would dare attack the US either.

The last general with any gumption got fired during the Korean War. Since then no one has dared stand up the master plan of the leaders locked away safe and snug in their beds. Coincidentally we have yet to win a war since then too.

You connect the dots and the answer is clear. If you want to actually win a war, it is going to be total hell before there is peace.
