Did you read the comments, everything will be fine, the Costa Ricans have no military but they are going to go over and talk them out of it. lolOriginally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

Calero Island has been in dispute since the days of Grover Cleveland, everyone but the communist scum in Nicuragua (and their commie friends of course) agree that it's Costa Rican territory.
If Obama had any balls at all the new USS George H.W. Bush would be anchored off the coast and we'd be running joint patrols up and down the San Juan River with the Costa Rican police.
Costa Rica = UN member, Nicuragua = close ally of Venezuela and Russia.

Our military is considerably larger than everyone elses, exluding China. Per capita it even exceeds theirs. Most countries can't afford to maintain an all volunteer force and will only raise an army in times of need. We didn't even really have much of a military prior to WW2, it took years to build enough tanks and aircraft to support that effort.
