absolutely not, in fact we must do something. but its a half-assed solution to a growing problem, we have no way to effectively identify someone in this state, DPS is a joke. I do not believe this is going to deter someone from committing voter fraud. but I do think it will do a good job of keeping legal voters from voting.

How about this solution:

"If you are not a white, land owning male you may not be granted suffrage in any local, state, or federal elections."

That shit worked in this country for 100 years.

I would say that a good portion of illegals have real IDs dude. Ever been to the DMV and seen the Spanish only line?

this is the truth. I know some illegals and they can get a VALID Texas drivers license for about $150 from some guy selling them at the DMV.

Why don't they just require the input of your SSN along with it? Not like the gub'ment doesn't already know it anyway. Then when you see a 50 year old bearded mexican with a valid ID turn up as 98 year old Ida May from Mayperl TX, you have him arrest and prosecute him for identity theft and barred from the US for life.

As an aside, felons/prisoners aren't allow to vote, so what's the issue anyway? (reference Section 2, 14th amendment)
