    That much more what?

We're chasing our tails here, it's a choice thing in my opinion. I also see no evidence to support what you hollering about.

There are actually more states then I realized that are open carry or have the option to open carry.

I'm not even saying I will open carry.

I can see myself doing it on a quick trip to Lowes with my wife beater on and shorts with hip or shoulder holster...maybe...maybe not. I want the choice.

Already took the choice away from me to have a smoking or non-smoking bar for a business damn it! Give me this choice!

Exactly, its opinions. We shall see what transpires. Not that it matters to me, Im in PA. lol

IMO the only people that want open carry are the billy badasses that want to be seen with their firearm on their hips. I would gander about 95% of the people who want it that way.

Exactly. It will gain unwanted attention everywhere you go. Unwanted attention from police and criminals.

PA has some of the lightest gun laws in the US in my opinion. The CHL is a breeze to get.

Also, opinions or not we can learn a lot from the states that already have it which is quite a few. Just hard to find statistics really or reports that are

          a)what I consider reliable
b)say anything - either support or not support what either of are saying

On B alone it could be assumed that open carry really is not that dangerous.

I also disagree with your statement about 95% of the people wanting the open carry - just to be billy bad asses

I'd actually support a compromise of sorts, but never in an official matter. Seems you have to support extreme things to get middle of the road, common sense laws and rules.

Does citizens open carrying scare you? Would it appease you if they went through training in order to open carry and did so with a permit? Just curious. Or do you think only big bad cops are qualified to defend citizens?

I don't understand your thesis on every opinion I make. I stated my opinion and why I support that opinion. Case Closed. If you don't like it, cool. I don't feel like reading novels about going back and forth. And I don't need a lecture. Move on dude.

I'm not getting whiney. You acting like the know all teacher is stupid. You don't know it all, and your opinions are just that. You are never going to convince myself or others that you are correct in what you think. State your case and move on. Are you so offended because you ARE that billy badass that wants to wear his pistol on his hip? Is that it?

I'm all for more rights, especially with gun laws, but I do not see this being advantageous. A problem I see with it is all the anti-gun people in the general public. Going around with your pistol on your hip just helps to create tension between the pro-gun and anti-gun communities. Having concealed carry keeps it out of sight and out of mind.

Personally I wouldn't want to have to deal with some lady freaking out at Walmart when you walk in all the while the person next to her is carrying concealed. Ignorance is bliss...

Na, not really. Last I checked we were having a debate and then you got all bitchy about it. I'll let ya be sir, no worries.

Not at all. I am all for conceal carry. Yes if the bill is passed, which I doubt it does, I would like to see a manditory weapon retention course. Having a chl does not qualify you to protect the public. Nor are all police officers. I just don't see any gain in this bill. I do not understand why someone would want to put themselves in harms way just to show off.

Okay, I do see your point. However, there are times it would just be nice to have the option to open carry. Also I agree on not protecting the public and anyone who thinks otherwise is foolish.

You look at it as showing off, I look at it as saving 5-10 minutes every time I go from mowing the lawn to running up to Lowes or HD - or - other areas of ease. Also, to be honest I would open carry when doing a CL deal in the nice public parking lots that I currently do them in.

I'll also admit that you're probably right about some people, but so what if that is the case? People do a lot of things to make themselves feel tough.

I'm all for choices but like ya say it probably won't happen anyway. I'm all about training for it as well, even though criminals generally don't train at all.

Anyway, I'll digress. Got spun up here for the last hour and just need to chill out.

Same could be argued about any right. Well, can't have freedom of speech, may upset someone. Can't have freedom of religion, may piss off a cop. That whole 4th and 5th amendment? Yeah.....what if criminals use them?

The 2nd is the only right that states "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" yet it is heavily. Open carrying would give me options. It was mentioned only billy badasses carry openly or would want to? Is that why cops open carry? I mean, why should they attract attention to themselves? I see cops out of their uniforms in Walmart with a holster on their hip almost every day. If it upsets someone for me to exercise my rights, so what? Am I hurting them? No.
                              I wear a Fez. Fez-es are cool

Huh? What options is that? You say you see cops carrying while off duty. I take it you saw their badge. They could be a detective... Could have just gone to training for the day (which you wear plain clothes usually and your badge and gun). You can't compare a police officer to a chl holder. That is night and day when you look at training. It seems to me like you want to be a police officer without actually being one? Conceal carry gives you just as many "options" as having it on your hip. You say why are police able to carry theirs on their hip and you are not. My answer is simple, because a police officer needs to be able to get their weapon as fast as possible and pull their weapon often. I take it you are a chl holder? How many times have you had to get your gun out ever? I am sure that answer is a big goose egg or we would have seen it on the news. Honestly I don't care about this bill. Just stating the obvious here. All it will is be used for all the wrong reasons. Ask any police officer with a good head on their sholders if they would rather carry their gun concealed or unconcealed when off duty.
