I still don't see the logic in this. So this is a health issue? Really? So drowning your liver in a bar, then driving home isn't? Oh well, at least when the drunks have a wreck or smack their spouse around after the bar, they won't smell like an ashtray!!! Jesus this country is fucking stupid.

Fat people offend me. They are also hazardous to my health. I vote we ban fat people from all restaurants.
You ever tried to wash the smell of a fat chick out of your clothes? Congress should definitely get involved.
This country is going down the shitter. I'm not sure if this legislation qualifies as a form of prohibition, but I can't help thinking of some great words spoken by our 16th president.
"Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded."

That's not a pain in the ass, it's something you SHOULD be doing anyways. OR, better yet, pick one of the countless non smoking establishments and shut the fuck up!

I don't smoke cigarettes, but I dip Copehagen like it's going out of style. I think this is total BS legislation and is definitely going hurt bar owners across Texas. It's absurd. People go to bars and typically smoke while having a beer. People might be disinclined to spend much time at a bar if it's smoke free. Ah...Cigarettes stink. 2nd hand smoke. Blah blah. Cry me a river. Another thing to kill small business owners, like continually trying to increase minimum wage and unreasonable taxation.
California and many other states castrated themselves and burned their balls in effigy a long time ago. Now it seems the trend is moving to Texas, of all places. Sad.
Before you bite down to hard on this Public Health issue bullshit, you may want take a moment of pause. History is replete with the "State" revoking your individual freedoms cleverly disguised as something done for "benefit" of the general public. Or telling a business owner on private property what they can and can't do. With a legal consumable product, no less. Priceless.
Want to live in a sterile environment? Seal up your doors and windows, put on gloves-gown-gas mask, and huddle in your closet. Leave the rest of us alone with our vices, but spare me the self-righteous indignation.
Go outside and take a deep breath D/FW folks. Breathe in all that refreshing jet fumes, ozone, and exhaust particulates in a population density of over 3 million residents. Cigarette smoke in a bar...lol I digress...

Relinquishing a freedom, only to justify it as an improvement? Our choices will dwindle to the drab, well worn path of conformity.
