I dunno, I've never worked for a union and family that I know did not enjoy it when they did. I'm not sure why I need an organization to stand up for my rights when a lot of them are outlined already.

It is my opinion that the unions have outlived their usefulness. Industries police themselves.

All I know is that if I worked what you did and had the life you do I better be WELL into the 6 digits, not just low 6s.

Lol thats nothing. On the railroad we have job insurance. It pays us if we screw up and get suspended. I make $360 a day everyday Im suspended up to 6 months. Talk about a paid fucking vacation. How do you like them apples.

Can you not read. The railroad has been union for over 100 years and its not going to change because of things like the railroad labor act, presidential boards and the fela act.

When did I ever complain about my pay. Im paid damn good and Im proud of the life I provide for my family. Maybe you should tell your mom and dad to stop cashing those railroad retirement checks each month since this bothers you so much. They do away with the unions and he wouldnt get shit. Im sure the railroad and the union provide a damn good life for your dad and family. It couldnt be that bad if he stuck it out to retirement.

Why does every conversation on this topic turn into you telling everyone either to not buy things shipped by rail or to not cash checks from a union shop? You act like either of those things have to do with the discussion at hand.

As I have said a hundred times, I think unions only make sense when the workers they represent are exceptionally skilled and involve jobs where many people can be killed if someone fucks up. I never understand when someone in the airline pilots union insists on calling a grocery store worker their "brother" or some fuck up they work with their "brother". I worked with a lot of people in three different union environments, there were a significant number of them that I wouldn't bother picking up off of the side of the highway, much less call them "brother".

And I've decided to take the advice of the union worshippers and demand that the Army be unionized. We deserve more pay, better hours, less responsibility and if we do something that requires a court martial, we deserve full pay and benefits for at least 6 months

Alot of little dick jealousy going on here. So lets add some fuel to the fire. My union dues cost me 90 bucks a month. For that $90 I get a job with a 6 figure income that takes an act of congress to fire me. I might as well be a supreme court judge. On top of that my healthcare package is valued at 24k a year. It only cost me $20 to have a baby. We pay that at the first Dr. visit and dont pay another penny till the baby is 6 months old. On top of that my prescription plan pays for baby formula. How kickass is that.

Come on fellow union brothers post up how good you got it and lets hear some more crying. To all the cry babies. If you cant beat em join em why dont you apply for a union job.

A Union works great, in theory; until human greed and apathy get put into the mix.
