      Better buy stocks.

A very wealthy man explained last week that commodities are shit because they generate no income and the only reason you buy them is that you hope someone will pay you more for them later. Then he went on to explain that cash is the worst position of all.

Trend? haha no such thing. You could have great earnings reports on a company, and it can tank, bad reports and it can shoot up. I just research, hold and hope for the best. lol Ive seen my energy stocks ass low, but glad I held on to them, because they have returned more than 100% already from 2008.

I hoped you grabbed some of those shares I told you about last week! Holy Jesus...

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

It's all about the guidance...always has been.

To the OP, you should diversify out of that position regardless. You never get paid by the market for holding risk in an undiversified portfolio with high to 1 asset correlations (by holding a large undiversified position, you're taking on more risk than that for which the market will compensate you). You will get a higher return/risk profile by holding a portfolio of diversified assets.

Another, unrelated concept is this: your human capital (NPV of future earnings power) is directly correlated with your financial capital. They're both tied to the same factors when an investor is holding a large stake in the company for which they work.

I wish I had the confidence in the stock market I once did. I actually made a few good moves in that time, overall doing not too bad. Someone on another board was heavily criticizing me for not taking advantage of investing in the stock market (I swear the fucker had bullet's bloodline somewhere).

Don't get wrong, I would LOVE to invest in a fair market system, but look at all the manipulation and flat-out deception going on in the market and NOTHING is done about it. Remember all those stable, reputable American companies like Enron, Tyco, Bear Sterns, GM, Chrysler, and Lehman Brothers? Man, 2008 was really the last straw for me. How many people lost everything, not from bad investing, but from outright deception? Banks were running street corner credit to anyone with a heartbeat and when it all came down to it, they were bailed out by the government in the largest hiest in the history of the world (even inflation adjusted, LOL). The heads of these banks just walked in on a Friday afternoon and said that if they don't get the money they need, then the world would change by Monday morning... and they got it!

Ya, I'm going to jump right back in as if nothing happened.

Doing good so far this morning. Jody, do you have an opinion if I should wait a few days or just hit my target and yank? We're only talking a potential swing of maybe 2-3 grand, but I sure would like that extra money if it just means waiting a few more days. This is one of the biggest financial decisions I've made in my life, so I don't want to be kicking myself for it later. As it sits I'm looking at about a 92% return on the companies investment, which for me is around 7 months of gross pay.

Oh don't worry, you'll be kicking yourself no matter what. Ten years from now the stock will probably be worth triple. My point is that hindsight is bullshit, you have to make decisions on what you have now.

That is like me reading the Koran and swearing off religion though. You are faulting the system for your inability to pick a good company and buy it at the right price. I'm virtually certain that 200 years from now Johnson & Johnson, General Electric and Coke will be alive and well. Will Netflix or Facebook be around? Don't make me laugh...

Don't worry, they'll give it to old people and medicare recipients. Everyone knows we all owe old people hundreds of thousands of dollars each.

Loaded question. What do you mean by "good"? You want to buy it? sell it? hold it for a week? a month? forever? There isn't really an easy way to answer that.
