Because they can tell the constituents, who are largely union members, "Hey, we stuck up for you by fleeing the state so the anti union legislation couldn't be voted on."

    What a fucking riot.

I believe that was concerning redistricting? Anybody remember what happened when they got back from Oklahoma? The inevitable still took place: redistricting occurred.

By the way, did anyone else catch the news blurb about Oklahoma passing an amendment that takes away collective bargaining from their government unions in the 13 largest cities? I'm beginning to like Okies...

I'm headed north once they drop the state tax.

I probably wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

You also have to factor in benefits and retirement pay plus benefits. You put in 20 years and get paid for 60. That math does not work anymore. Break all unions.

Maybe that's why so many of them are red?

The pissants started investigating Perry for abusing his power by using the State Troopers to locate and retrieve them.

In Wisconsin they are going to take away direct deposit and force senators to show up to get their paycheck. We'll see how long they hold out then. Their governor is awesome!

I had a teacher in school with 20 years on the job and never used his sick time. He literally took off an entire year with the accrued time, so not only did he get all of his benefits, he accrued more time while "sick". Try getting that benefit with a non union job. I used to be able to carry over 240 hours of PTO but there is no way I could take 30 days off in a row and keep my job.

WTF teaching in Wisconsin is 89k? As a teacher myself I think that is OK pay, you are forgetting that teachers don't just work in the classroom and take care of snotty kids that don't pay attention to shit. You also have to go to PTA meetings, schedule meetings with parents, schedule group teacher meetings, do retention tests, tutoring, grade papers and all that shit. OUTSIDE of school hours. I know teachers that arrive to school at 7 AM and don't leave until 6 PM. Tell me how that is fair? 56k here is a joke, but you have to be thankful for what you get IMO, if you don't like the pay or don't like your job, DON'T FUCKING DO IT, there will be other teachers.

On another side note, teachers work approx 60+ hours a week for about $800 a week.

                        THE MORE YOU KNOW!

Back on topic, the fucking house reps should not be fucking fleeing from their duties, they should be taken into police custody regardless of what type of governor there is, and shipped back to their fucking state to do their fucking job... That's what we pay them for.

They also get a 2.5 month summer vacation. They also get a spring break and 2 weeks at Christmas. All holidays plus most teachers comp out of teacher inservice days. Most people who work salary jobs end up working much more than 40 hrs a week... and we work for 49 weeks a yr (assuming 3 weeks vacation).

Can the governor issue arrest warrants? It would be interesting to see a bunch of runners show up in the state capitol in orange jump suits.

Northern migration time is drawing closer.

To quote Governor Chisitie "you don't have to do it".

I'm not flaming you but I grow tired of the hearing the same rhetoric from teachers.
