  • Obama/Holder: D.O.M. act 1996

So are you believing these two asshats? They took it upon themselves (hey SCOTUS, fuck you) to declare the Defense of Marriage Act "unconstitutional". Never mind a pesky little thing like Judicial Review, never mind that the Executive Branch has no power whatsoever to declare ANYTHING unconstitutional. This is probably the most bold, in your face power grab that they have perpetrated yet.

I saw that. Fucking ridiculous. I hope SCOTUS throws it right back in his face with a vote for the Healthcare Act being unconstitutional.

President Scrotum knows no bounds in forcing his agenda down the throats of all Americans, no matter the cost or laws he breaks. He's a disgrace to the office.

I do not personally support homosexual marriage, but I don't think the constitution gives the federal government that power to regulate it. I would say it is an issue that should be left to the states, stop wasting my tax money fighting the lawsuits. Unless I am missing something it makes sense to me.

the funny thing is slick willie signed off and now obammy is saying that the husband of his sec of state signed an act into law that is unconstitutiuonal.

he is proving that the "left" is never "right".

I think the big issue here is not the act itself, but the actions of the Executive branch. They have no authority whatsoever to declare any law or act to be unconstitutional. They have the duty and the responsibility to present it to the SCOTUS for judicial review. Until such time as the Justices deem it unconstitutional (if they do), the Executive branch is legally bound to support and uphold it.

As far as the act goes, it doesn't require any reciprocity among the states (in keeping with the 10th Amendment).

He cannot just decide which laws he wants to support and ones he wants to not recognize. I guess since he's gotten away with all the other bullshit he's done, this won't be any different.

I remember when the person in that position was a man of dignity and integrity. Shame that it has turned into a fiasco. As goes our highest position, so goes the rest of the country. I can't wait to make the move.

The insanity continues day by day. Now, if this is allowed to stand and the precedent is set, POTUS has judicial powers.

Effin amazing. And all we do is sit here on our little internet board and piss and moan.

He's fine with lower-court rulings IF they rule in his favor, but disregards those that rule against his "ideals". It's clearly partisan politics, and I wish we could shit-can his ass for "dereliction of duty".
