Instead, she spoke to law enforcement officials at the scene — who assured her “there were no signs of foul play” — and Scalia’s physician in Washington, who said that the 79-year-old justice suffered from a host of chronic conditions.

“He was having health issues,’’ Guevara said, adding that she is awaiting a statement from Scalia’s doctor that will be added to his death certificate when it is issued later this week.

Guevara also rebutted a report by a Dallas TV station that quoted her as saying that Scalia had died of “myocardial infarction.” In an interview with The Washington Post, she said she meant only that his heart had stopped.

“It wasn’t a heart attack,” Guevara said. “He died of natural causes.”

Without performing an autopsy, or having visually inspected his body, she knew what he died from. A US Supreme Court Justice. In the final year of an outgoing president's term.

Was talking to one of the guys I work with today and he said he went on a retreat with a local rich dude he used to work for. He said various people showed up from all over the country. One of those people was Clarence Thomas and he showed up driving his own RV just like a regular Joe Blow. Point being, the idea that Scalia's death was murder seems a little outlandish at first but these guys don't go around with a secret service escort or anything like that so it is just as feasible as the murder of anyone.

Heads up. If you needed a reason to just vote straight ticket against Democrats, here you go.

They are openly advocating 'packing the court' with liberal justices the next time they get a chance to, so that their agenda items get the SC stamp of approval - forever.

...none of these ideas ― much less what remains of the legacy left by former President Barack Obama ― will survive a Trump-friendly Supreme Court. Roe v. Wade is gone. Democrats have no choice but to implement structural reforms to the judiciary if they hope to prevent decades of rule by the alt-right in America. At a minimum, that will mean expanding the Supreme Court bench to 11 justices under the next Democratic president. Other reforms, including term limits to remove aging conservatives, may well be appropriate...

The choice between court-packing (in 2021) and international fascism should not be difficult. Democrats can’t get their ends ― a decent society of mutual respect and shared prosperity ― by ignoring the means of power. Playing nice with fascist enablers in Washington will not stop fascism.

But now, with Justice Scalia’s seat vacant and Hillary Clinton the favorite to win the presidency, the movement to shift constitutional doctrine further to the right may be running out of time. If Clinton is elected and successfully appoints a successor to Justice Scalia, 6 of the 9 justices will be firm obstacles to the elimination of abortion and affirmative action. And even if the Senate continues to refuse to act on a new appointment, 5 of 8 will be, with no short-term prospect of a conservative nominee.
