  • Grumblings in Saudi Arbia, stand by for $5 gas

DUBAI, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Hundreds of people have backed a Facebook campaign calling for a "day of rage" across Saudi Arabia next month to demand an elected ruler, greater freedom for women and release of political prisoners.

The page called for a "revolution of yearning" on March 11 in the kingdom, the world's biggest oil exporter and which is ruled by an absolute monarchy.

I'll gladly pay $5 a gallon if it means the end of public stonings and hangings for something as simple as a woman walking outside unescorted. The Saudi royal family has absolute power, they can do anything they want to their people and can't be prosecuted.

I whole heartily agree for freedom for the people but I believe we will see the countries become more like Iran's government. in 1969, col kadaffi, (what ever his name) overthrew the king of Libya. So look what they ended up with. Without a leader that will do what is best for the country instead of self serving interests, they will be trading one master for another.

And that mission accomplished statement. Is that for the Iraqi Christians that are being slaughtered and fleeing Iraq? Iraq has lost half of the 1.4 million Christians. The US did a great job with it's foreign policy.

Iraqi Christians are leaving the country in large numbers following a deadly October attack on a church in Baghdad, advocates say.

Slavery in one form or another has always been a custom in Islamic culture.
