It Bible is pretty fucked up in the old testaments, but they had the new testaments that override the old. The Quran has no such text. So while bad Christians would be those who don't go to church or follow the 10 commandments loosely. Bad Muslim's are the one's who aren't killing people.

My view of the OT is that in order to know good, you have to know evil. That way you can see by the contrast. The OT shows mankind what purity looks like much like a mirror---get a good look at yourself. You see that in God's economy you suck, you can't be around God like this, and you have no power to wipe away sins---so you're screwed. Then the NT comes in and shows what you can do about it now that you know you suck. You can't fix it for yourself, you need Jesus.
