I believe they are not considered "white", but instead are listed as Asian . I know I sound like a complete ass right now, so please, let me continue. This classification is for the census. But historically, I believe Asians are considered part of the Mongoloid branch of humanity. The other two branches are Negroid and Caucasoid. All peoples are a blend of the three and there is no such thing as a "pure" person such as purely mongoloid. That said, we are all "out of Africa" where Ethiopia is said to be the cradle of mankind. Of course with all of the DNA studies now available this information is subject to change.
