He'd be on the hook for the $250k if he didn't show up. The judge just took the bail bondsman out of the process for some reason. I mean they did make $10k off the thug 3 weeks prior. I'd guess the jails are probably pretty full in Baltimore.

It'd turn into a bench warrant and you'd owe $250k. Yeah it is stupid, like many things in our legal system. Or another possibility is that maybe the person was someone's informant and they wanted him back at work ASAP. He was obviously pretty heavily involved in some kind of organized crime.
