Originally posted by LANTIRN View PostISIS is too spread out worldwide to go down easily anymore. They are operating in the middle east, europe, philippines, and have claimed responsibility for attacks in the US. They likely have cells here, and have been reportedly working with Mexican drug cartels for a few years now. Doing some research and trying to get first hand accounts from opposition fighters, it appears to me (strictly my interpretation) that ISIS victories and advancements are going under reported, and victories against them and reports of them loosing ground may be over reported on and exaggerated. Take the philippines, for example. You hear almost nothing about the ISIS allegiance there or the kidnapping and execution of westerners, but it has happened (two Canadians last I remember). You can find a lot of stories on ISIS there if you google the right term, but simply googling about ISIS or watchin CNN they act like they are only in Iraq and Syria. Personally I think the organization is much stronger and still better funded than is being reported, and I don't think they are as close to defeat as we have been recently led to believe. Just my two cents, though. Most of my opinion has been formed by research on google.
I still think ISIS is a small fry. Nothing but a symptom of the real problem, which is islam in general. If we could snap our fingers right now and every member of isis keels over dead, all we have to do is wait a few years for some 14 year olds' nuts to drop and we've got another isis with a new name. Killing al qaeda, or isis, or [insert new organization here] will never ever put a stop to it. Unless, you dramatically shrink the influence of islam.
Which I think can be done. Just look at those photos of iraq and iran from the 1920's-1960's. They may have been there, but they were small. Probably just an annoyance to the common people, at most. But they grew and grew. Thus, they can shrink and shrink. Trump labeling the muslim brotherhood a terrorist organization would be a very good step in the right direction. There are tons of people in all of those countries, who just don't care about islam. Atheists, gays, and people who just aren't interested in living a pious life of the religious zealot. They're there, and there's lots of them. They just dare not act it out, or speak out on it. One way or another, we need to shrink islam back down to something like pre-1960's levels. Shift the balance of power back to those common people who don't care about religion all that much.WH

I don't think you understood what you read. That's pretty much my point. There's a lot of zealots, and then there's a lot that in all likelihood, just don't give a rip. And couldn't be bothered to blow themselves up or to stone a gay to death.
That said, if you think its such a tiny minority in those countries, try dressing in drag and walking down the street in one of them.WH

Try dressing in drag and walking around here. The snowflakes you hate would be the only ones to embrace your choice.
Sorry if I failed to see your point and you're welcome if I've proven your ignorance.
Adios! I gotta ghost before I get banned again for being brown.THE BAD HOMBRE

All I ever hear about is how persecuted Muslims are from Muslims. Stuff like the local mosque meets rebel flag....eating at a fast food place and getting called raghead....draw the prophet cartoon ended with Garland officer shooting extremist....latest travel ban... And I talk with them daily, these are actual examples. In all fairness, we don't bring up jihad much...that would be weird.
