  • The EPA's Reign of Terror Coming To An End

The Trump administration has instituted a media blackout at the Environmental Protection Agency and barred staff from awarding any new contracts or grants.

Emails sent to EPA staff since President Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday and reviewed by The Associated Press detailed the specific prohibitions banning press releases, blog updates or posts to the agency’s social media accounts.

The Trump administration has also ordered a “temporary suspension” of all new business activities at the department, including issuing task orders or work assignments to EPA contractors. The orders are expected to have a significant and immediate impact on EPA activities nationwide.

The EPA did not respond to phone calls and emails requesting comment Monday or Tuesday.

The other bill he was suspending was the planned parent hood funding. I had no idea we were paying for abortions in other countries

I know the EPA is garbage, and needs to die. But I'd still like to think that someone will keep corrupt scumbags in various industries from poisoning shitloads of people to death. They've done it plenty, and they're doing it now.

With no epa, I hope it doesn't become some kind of free for all for that kind of crap.

Good. Those fuckers neither care about the environment nor give a fuck about protecting it.

I like how they spilled 1 million gallons of waste water into Durango, CO and then told the residents "LOL, you can't sue us."

Exactly. Bureaucratic bullshit. Private charities have done far more for the environment than those clowns. This is a common theme in our bloated government. I hope we loose some more weight.

They (TCEQ) are nearly as bad.

I like a clean environment, but never liked the strong arm tactics of the EPA. I think there has to be some kind of middle ground and I'm sure there is one coming.

Something I always thought would be interesting is an estimated ten year environmental impact report for new cars. Showing estimated gas, oil, battery, and tire use, plastic content, recyclable content, that kind of stuff. Not as a basis to tax the fuck out of consumers, but as another way to compare before buying.
When the government pays, the government controls.

The EPA apparently agrees, since they delegate much of the environmental regulatory enforcement in TX to the TCEQ.

That is a very sore subject out here in NM where water is scarce. The EPA needs to be flushed down the toilet along with Bureau of Land Management and Department of Homeland Security and rebuild.
