I don't follow politics too closely but I've been keeping up with this election and I started wondering if the Obama admin has accomplished anything that both sides considered a note worthy? All I hear on tv/radio is negative stuff. Surely they did something positive in 8 years?

Brexit happened under Obama's watch, against his wishes but he helped bring it about. The cartels in Mexico seem to not be as active for some reason. Our dollar is worth almost as much as the Euro now and it's worth more than the Canadian dollar.
He pretty much caused the Syrian civil war which killed off tens of thousands of Islamic extremists. Of course at the same time he brought tens of thousands of them here to live.

Which hopefully trump will soon deport. As for positive... someone might have to school me on this one but
Wasn't there some kind of big problem with scumbag insurance companies gladly taking people's money, but then when it came time to pay up, they'd do whatever they hell they could to call it a "pre-existing condition"? I think after osamacare, they can't do that any more. Something in the new law says "no pre existing conditions" or something like that.
The insurance companies are not our friends, and if he gave them a bloody nose, it may in the end, turn out to work out in our favor. Fear of being put out entirely, might make them start shaping up. But then again this whole paragraph could be dead wrong, hopefully someone will chime in who knows exactly how all that worked out.WH

Now there are a whole slew of personal options and scenarios that all could have played out of differently, but that's the way it went.

She put off any other care or check ups for 6 years out of fear of being broke and living on the streets. The day after the exchange opened, she signed up. Paid her $1250 got her insurance and went to the hospital. She didn't leave but for the body bag she was wheeled out on. The $6k deductible was refunded and never had any other medical bill or expenditures to be paid.

As for what Obama did while in office, he got Bin Laden. That is probably about it. He was the most divisive president in a long time. That is really his legacy, the ability to makes sure all of the self proclaimed victims in this country got a shoulder to cry on. You probably saw them last night, crying on television at Hillary's campaign HQ, they are going to do the same for the next two months, they'll stay victims until the end.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

He did pass a number of consumer protection laws as the Credit CARD Act.
When Obama was voted in in 2008, there was a palpable change in the self confidence and feeling of empowerment of minority (mostly black) people in the country. For the first time in our history, the minority voters' voice was heard and it mattered. Unfortunately the real world results in regards to job rates, home ownership, and overall financial well-being were not great for black people but I don't think there's any question that minorities felt they were part of the American dream for the first time. To me, a huge part of Obama' legacy is that he did NOTHING for the people that got him there. When the government pays, the government controls.
