Entirely different cuture and mentality than we have now, unfortunately. Back then you had about 30% who believed enough to stand up. I bet you couldn't get 10% these days. Obama arguably has been the most powerful president in the history of this nation, thanks to legislation passed during the Bush administration, and furthered in Obama's own administration. And the wheels haven't come off.
