Trump is not winning this debate. He seems petulant in his responses. I can't vote for Hillary but he needs to get on message and stop responding to her little jabs.

Trump won this debate by simply not losing. Hillary beat expectations by simply staying conscious through it.

Trump did get off message a bit and meandered around to his point a few times.

He let some devastating attacks go, like lack of cyber security using the secretary of state's emails housed in her bathroom server.

Also when Hillary was opining on the black conviction rate and prison terms, he didn't nail her for the mandatory minimum sentences that were enacted when Bill Clinton was in office.

Overall though, I think he got more of his vision out to a wider audience, and that's a good thing.



Hillary, with the help of her laugh track in the background ( notice how Lester admonished the first time they cheered for Trump, but never when they cheered for Hillary. ) had some good moments.

The dig about the 1973 lawsuit claiming discrimination was a good dig. This forced Trump to explain minutia and took him off message.

Her and Lester saying Trump was for the Iraq war, although already debunked, forced him to explain why it was debunked instead of attacking Hillary for her support of it.

But what she didn't do was outshine him. The media makes him out to be a racist, homophobic, maniacal, litterally Hitler, and she doesn't utterly destroy him?!? Voters got to see that, and perhaps rethink their view of Trump as something other than Hitler reincarnate.
