You could come up with a mile long list of similar BS and my opinion on this topic wouldn't change. While I vehemently disagree with disrespecting the flag, I won't say the man deserves jail time over it.
I do disagree with his choice of venues. A public classroom is not the place to push your personal views onto the students. That's one of many reasons my children are home schooled.

He's in a position of authority, demonstrating a dislike for this country, in an attempt to teach a point that could have been taught a million other ways, without inciting dislike or hatred towards this country.
He's hiding behind the 1st to use it to spread anti-american hate. He could do that in any other environment, but not many are as effective as impressionable young kids.
School should be an unbiased factual educational environment, but this teacher is using it to express his political opinion, in the guise of first amendment teachings.
That's bullshit.sigpic

BTW this PC is slow as shit, you sure these are 980's? Windows shows them as 780's. The legit copy of benchmark isn't even close to what my 970 ran. Kidding.

The 1st amendment wasn't created for the speech you agree with, it is there for the speech you don't. This guy should have his fucking ass kicked but there should never be a law against what he did because you can't trust the government with that kind of power.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.

We can apply the same rule here. The teacher has the right to disrespect the flag, but the school also has the right to fire him for it, just like what would happen to me if I called someone at my job a ni99er.

When you're a teacher, you're there to teach academics. Not opinions. I will say that I don't mind Colin Kaepernicks kneeling/sitting. Good for him. I'll still stand, but I will respect his opinion. This teacher is forcing his opinion on young minds."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson
