How does this change the fact that both parties have the shittiest candidates we've seen in generations?

As far as why I refuse to pull the lever for Trump (I've been an Independent voter for a while now after I finally realized that the Republican establishment has nothing to do with conservatism), I've explained fully (as others have) in other threads and has nothing to do with the point I was trying to make which is:

The Republican party could have selected just about anyone else on the debate stage a few months back and be beating the crap out of Hillary in the polls right now.

The two major parties have selected the 2 most polarizing figures imaginable which leaves a large portion of the electorate shrugging their shoulders.

So be it and bring on the show....

Won't argue they're sh*tty. Just pointing out the stakes are bigger then a 4 year term. Supreme court justices stay on the bench 20-40 YEARS.

Unless Clinton has them killed like she did to Scalia.

You are mistaken in saying the Republicans "selected" Donald Trump.

This election cycle has become a joke. Hillary could possibly be the worst candidate in history, judging by the scandals. Yet the Dems are holding to the "party candidate, not the person" line, and repubs have Trump, whom is a love-or-hate candidate, and I dont see as of yet that he would be a good president. Johnson doesnt sound too bad yet, but we havent really gotten a good chance to see him in the spotlight. The fact that he was a republican up until this point is a catch 22 for me, on one hand he is likely just another politician that changed flags to libertarian party in order to get into the race, and on the other, he's moved to the libertarian party and I tend to agree with most of his views.

I'm waiting until the debates to really pass judgement on any candidate. I dont trust hillary, Trump is a bit too loose cannon for me, and I have my doubts that he will win me over on the debate stage.

So just think how much you'd save with Paul's 14.6% flat tax. No man in all the land, shall pay more than 14.6% of his wages in taxes. Think of the possibilities. Without gold bars to wipe their asses with, this government would have no choice but to change.

I'm not standing up for trump, cause I'm just a "we'll just have to wait and see" kind of guy when it comes to trump. However, I do have to point out that no matter who was in the slot, they're only human and thus are incapable of being perfect. The best man for the job really doesn't exist, you've got to pick a human and hope his mistakes are minimal. Even if he does share your ideology.

More and more people do seem to be waking up to that fact, which is a good thing. I hear that a lot these days.
