Did you confirm it in the email sent?

Wow, what a coincidence, I was number 71,001 as well. Yes I received and clicked the confirmation email.

Edit: Scrolling down the page it shows another link to the same petition, and shows 74,789 signed.

Not saying it's your fault, but this is why petitions aren't taken seriously. That list could be full of spoofed names and accounts.

People who "sign" these thinking anything will come of them, or just wasting their time with them, make me laugh.

The pleasure I got in doing it made this particular instance worth it. If you only knew what a heinous beeoutch my neighbor is you'd probably start me a support group.

We decline to comment on the specific request raised in the petition, which falls outside the scope of the We the People Terms of Participation. You can read the full Terms of Participation to get a better sense of why We the People is designed the way it is, and to learn more about its guidelines for use.

We encourage you to use the We the People platform to petition the Administration to take action on the policy issues you care about. If a petition gets enough support, White House staff will review it, ensure that it's sent to the appropriate policy experts for their review, and issue an official response.

                            Thanks,
-- The We the People Team

                            That's the response I expected.

Signed. Even though at the end of the day, it's just a symbolic act.
