That proximity, by the jets and the helo is anything but routine. If they were American pilots, flying American aircraft, doing that around American ships they would be in front of the old man explaining themselves. At-sea encounters with surface vessels typically take place at over a mile...minimum.

That is true. The proximity definitely isn't normal, especially with a fighter to a ship. I just meant the harassment back and forth is pretty standard. There is a lot of stuff we don't hear about either that is more routine. This definitely wasn't routine with how close the pilot got to the ship. A wannabe Top Gun Russian Maverick most likely.

My brother flies an F-16 for the Air National Guard (he's been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan) and my Dad used to fly an A-4 Skyhawk with the Marine Corps. I've heard some pretty good stories over the years.

I wonder what our response would be if Maverick Viktor accidentally kamikazee'd himself into the ship.

And now, the human shar pei puppy states they would have been in the right to shoot the planes down, several hours after the fact.

Hahahaha. I'm an SVO clone because I said my Dad was a fighter pilot and my brother is and I've heard them tell some fun stories? I'm a desk jockey so I got nothing in comparison to the Most Interesting Man on DFWMFM.
