I hope it does flip personally especially if somehow Schultz runs and splits the votes enough to keep the petulant child in the whitehouse.

I don't want the pendulum to swing ALL the way back towards an AOC democratic type swing...but can't we just get somewhere back towards the middle?

I would give land owners a choice. Let us build on your land without bitching and we will pay you or we will build a wall along a highway right of way that your property is considerable south of and the closest crossing will be 30 miles of driving from your front door effectively making your land valueless.

I'm pretty sure there are parts of the boarder that are currently like that.

Unfortunately the middle are just hang wringers who don't have any business in power. Half measures are their forte. They're fools who want to believe that they can please everybody, that if we just do things a certain way, it'll just be "good enough" for everyone. They couldn't be more wrong. They always result in the creation of the far left and the far right, as history shows. The middle can only exist for so long, before one or the other takes over as the middle inevitably crumbles.

These other sides are very powerful, the left and the right. Or insert random other group here. They've all got millions of people who could be counted as members. Sometimes all one group has to do is see a surge of 2 or 3% and that's it, now they have the reigns. Take the libertarian party for instance. They what.. doubled in size and membership since 4 years ago? Maybe they're still small. But they could easily do that again. And then again, and again. I haven't checked but I'm sure the same is true for the green party.

Some people are saying this is because of the internet, that now people can much more easily find, learn about, and go on to become full on members of whatever party/group they actually identify with. These other parties are on the rise because people are fed up. Check this page out, you can browse through all the offices they hold now:

20 years ago nearly all those offices were held by either a D or an R, not an L. I haven't looked but my guess would be that the green party has had about the same level of success.

Middle? What Democrat is anywhere near the middle on any policy issue? AOC and her ilk are dragging the party toward full blown unapologetic socialism, with a nice shot of Islam and anti semitism to go with it. Middle? Who in the party is checking that leftward slide?
