  • CPAC straw poll winner

Ron Paul emerged victorious in the Conservative Political Action Conference's annual presidential straw poll, the second straight year that the libertarian-leaning Texas Congressman has won the vote.

Paul took 30 percent while former Gov. Mitt Romney (Mass.) placed second with 23 percent. No other candidate received double digit support.

I really doubt Ron Paul has a snow balls chance in hell against Barack Obama.

Some good idea's, but way too controversial and comes across as divisive. He would be a "statement" candidate for ultra-conservatives, but it would give Jimmy Carter a 3rd term.

*footnote* Only 3 CPAC straw-poll winners since '76 have gone on to win the Republican nomination, and they were all sitting presidents.

Sadly its going to take someone just as full of shit as Obama to beat him. Americans aren't ready to make the needed cuts to save the country. Just watch how the new Republicans and Tea Party aligned Republicans get hammered this and next year when they try to cut the budget. I would love to see Paul Ryan run for POTUS but I think he needs to sit it out this go round and give it a shot in 2016 if there is a country left by then.

Ronald Reagan:"Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it."

Homer: "Bart...there's 2 things I know about women. Never give them nicknames like "jumbo" or "boxcar" and always keep receipts...it makes you look like a business man."

Right. Paul won the CPAC straw poll before.

I like ron paul and supported him during the last election cycle, but he is a different type of radical compared to what you normally see on the right.

like the midterms of 2010, the republicans are going nominate the candidate who fires them up the most, rather then going with someone who is actually electable.

I wasn't a Paul supporter last time around, mainly because I thought he was unelectable. I and many people like me made a huge mistake in thinking this. It's not really my voice unless it is my true vote. As of right now, I will stick with him, no matter how unelectable he is.

Yeah he's a radical because he supports the belief system that this country was founded on. Totally radical. Or, the direct opposite.

He is whatever the MSM makes him out to be and that is what matters since the majority of the mouth-breathing Americans will only do/believe what their television says.

I've been aware of Ron Paul for 30 years. I agree with a lot of his idea's/theories, but some are quite different and considered "radical". He's a great guy to have in your corner, but he will never be president due to some of his views.

Funny you should bring up "unelectable" - I REALLY thought a black man was unelectable. Fuck, how wrong was I?
