Pentagon: 2 U.S. Navy Boats With 10 American Sailors Held by Iran Military

Iranian military forces seized two U.S. Navy boats Tuesday and are detaining them on Iran's Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf, senior U.S. officials told NBC News.

The 10 American sailors aboard the small riverine vessels were on a training mission around noon ET when one of the boats may have experienced mechanical failure and drifted into Iranian-claimed waters, officials said. Iran's coast guard took them into custody.

The officials said it's unclear whether the sailors — nine men and one woman — had strayed into Iranian territorial waters before they were captured.

American naval ships routinely navigate the waters of the Persian Gulf near Iranian territory. The Gulf has been a flash point in the Middle East, and the incident comes on the same day President Barack Obama was set to give his annual State of the Union address.

Obama didn't mention this during the address. Therefore it is most fo sho we are really all is ok. It is no doubt a figment of our imagination to think that our nation is in duress... cuz if we were he would have mentioned it to warn us. He mentioned no word of radical islam, attacks on Paris, Cali, or the Philly cop shooting. Why?! because we are all really ok! He did mention global warming... a true danger, as well as the elimination of racism and the right to gay marriage and true happiness. can we not all get along?!

Great Iran now has two of our boats, that was probably the deal. Well that and releasing all Irans we are holding.

Of course they are, they were released with in 12 hours. That is standard protocol for international waters. We would have done the same thing. But instead of being thankful that they are released lets be upset that Obama didn't mention it, in a speech that was pre-written, 6 hours after it happened.
