Christianity is defined as the belief of the death and resurrection of jesus as the savior and son of god, which catholics believe in, therefore they are christians, just like mormans, even though both have beliefs that do not align with other denominations.

They also pray to dead people, view the pope as a high priest and/or deity, confess their sins to priests, have priests forgive their sins, remake the 10 commandments to allow idol worship, create a heirchy system to dissiminate the pope's message since he talks directly with God, uses the baptism sacrament as a needed tool for salvation (mostly unwillingly forced to infants), excommunicate those that disagree with political leaning of the Vatican...

It's not Christianity by any standards.

Jesus says that He is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through Him. That doesn't mean besides Mary, a saint or a priest with an alter boy under his desk.

Christianity is about a personal relationship with Jesus. Anything more, just takes away from that.
