The Department of Homeland Security was tied to entries made on the Wikipedia pages of Renee Ellmers and Kevin McCarthy, alleging that they were having an affair.

The one thing I will always give the dems credit for is that they stick together. They're ALL on message and don't deviate. They will eat their own as needed. Just seems like the republicans are so segmented.

Whoever gets it will suck just as much as anyone else who has had it. Every single time we have someone we think is conservative or constitutional or libertarian or has any ethics, they end up being another douchebag progressive rino. Every. Single. Time. The few who haven't done it just haven't sold out yet. They all do. As much as I like Cruz for standing up for his principles, I expect him to fold as well. Gowdy will be no different. I don't know much about him other than he is supposed to be conservative, but he will sell out and play all the stupid political games with both parties and ignore voters and the constitution. Just like it happens every single time.

Why do you think that is? If someone were to get in there, who said "Hell no" to every "opportunity" they presented him, that he didn't like, do you think he'd be in fear of his life?

I'm sure they could arrange for him to have a heart attack or get fast spreading cancer or something, if "they" really wanted to. I'm just asking if this is something you think POTUS's who stand up for what they believe in, might go through. I mean look at Reagan.

We have had some ideologues in there in the past. But as you've said, on some issues, they've folded. Not all, but some.

He has been firm so far on his beliefs and we need that. Asshats holding hands and working together to fuck us without a reach around has not helped us at all. Cruz may not have gotten anything passed, but at least he has stood firm when he thinks bills are bullshit. I admire that, and I hope I am wrong about himd folding eventually.

At this point I am just very pessimistic about any politician at the federal level doing the right thing. Hell that pretty well goes for state level too. They just always lie and I don't trust them. As to why they lie, I don't know for sure. I am sure promises and brines are part of it sometimes. Some of it is probably knowing if they are a team player in the gang rape then they will be covered and assisted at election time. I don't think death is as much of a threat, maybe in severe circumstances but most of the time it is character assassination and destroying their reputation, often at the cost of their marriage and of course job.

Wasn't that Ford or Carter? I have heard the story and seem to think was one of them. Didn't he also say during his campaign pretty vocally that he wanted to know the truth and wanted the people to know and then suddenly shut up about it once in office?

I don't agree with half of his strongly held beliefs or his prioritization of them
